Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has commented on the club's communication with German coach Thomas Tuchel, indicating that they decided not to pursue the talks after concluding they already had the best manager.
According to renowned transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, who shared the news on his platform on "X", Ten Hag stated: "Manchester United told me they had spoken with Thomas Tuchel, yes."
The Dutch manager added: "United’s management ultimately concluded that they already have the best manager."
Ten Hag continued: "They traveled to Ibiza to inform me of their decision to keep me. They interrupted my vacation and stood at my doorstep," noting that there are ongoing discussions about his new contract, which is not an easy matter.
Ten Hag's Tenure at Manchester United
It's worth mentioning that the 54-year-old Dutch manager, Erik ten Hag, took charge of Manchester United two seasons ago. During his tenure, he has secured two titles: the English League Cup and the FA Cup.
