Kylian Mbappe participated in a limited training session on Wednesday, just two days before France's crucial Euro 2024 match against the Netherlands in Leipzig. This comes after the French captain broke his nose during France's opening win against Austria.

Mbappe sustained the injury following a collision with Kevin Danso towards the end of Monday's 1-0 victory. The incident, which saw his nose clash violently with the Austrian defender's shoulder, left the 25-year-old with a bloodied shirt.

Despite missing the start of the team training session, Mbappe later appeared on the field wearing a plaster across his nose. He initially trained alone with a fitness coach, engaging in some short passing exercises before joining his teammates for a shooting drill

On Tuesday, the coaching staff noted that Mbappe remained "doubtful" for the upcoming clash against the Dutch.

The French Football Federation confirmed that Mbappe had undergone tests at a hospital in Duesseldorf before rejoining the squad in Paderborn.

They assured fans that he would not require surgery and that he would be fitted with a mask to enable his return to action "after a period of treatment."

If Mbappe is unavailable for Friday's match, it is expected that Olivier Giroud, France's all-time leading goalscorer, will take his place. Both France and the Netherlands currently lead Group D, having each won their opening matches. The Dutch secured a 2-1 victory over Poland on Sunday.
