Manchester United has resolved the future of manager Erik ten Hag following recent rumors about his potential departure amid the Red Devils' failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Ten Hag stays at Man United

Manchester United finished eighth in the Premier League last season. However, their victory in the FA Cup against local rivals Manchester City secured them a spot in the Europa League.

Winning the FA Cup seems to have bought ten Hag more time at Old Trafford. According to the English newspaper "The Athletic," the Dutch manager will not leave the club this summer.

The newspaper also reported that Manchester United's new management, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, is considering extending ten Hag's contract, which is set to expire in 2025.

Ten Hag joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022, facing significant challenges, including the controversial decision to bench Cristiano Ronaldo, which ultimately led to the termination of the Portuguese star's contract.

In his first season, ten Hag led Manchester United to the League Cup title with a victory over Newcastle United and secured a third-place finish in the Premier League, qualifying for the Champions League.

However, in his second season, the team exited the Champions League in the group stage, finishing last in their group, but they redeemed themselves by winning the FA Cup against City.

It's worth noting that Manchester United lost the FA Cup to their neighbors last season as well.
